The Art of Mindful Facilitation (Book and Training DVD) was created by Lee Mun Wah to share his experiences and expertise with students, other diversity trainers, and anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of race and group dynamics. The book describes his twenty years as a master diversity trainer and facilitator. He shares a variety of diversity experiences that actually occurred in his workshops, as well as his thoughts and the interventions he used to facilitate the issues that surfaced. Also, for the first time, he shares all of the diversity exercises that he has used in his seminars to stimulate authentic dialogues on race, gender, and sexism issues. The training film supplements the book, and serves as a collection of case studies that Lee Mun Wah experienced in his diversity workshops over the past twenty years. Each case study vignette is role-played by a group of actors to replicate what actually occurred. Through the use of three cameras, Lee Mun Wah illustrates the visual and auditory acuity that is needed to “mindfully observe” what is said and not said, the intent and impact of our communications, and the “points of departure and entrances” inherent in each of our gestures and responses.
